The Red Power Divas is a Building Peaceful Families walking/running group where members of all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness levels will find a solid network of support, where everyone is welcomed, encouraged, nurtured, and coached. Since 2007, membership in this inspirational group has grown to more than 1,400 women (Divas), men (Divos), children (FitKidz), and senior members (Golden Diva/Divos). There are no fees to join, no fundraising, and no guilt! Members participate as much or as little as they wish... it's all about SEEKING BALANCE.
Our spring/summer Training Season begins the first Saturday in May and ends with the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll Mini/Half Marathon in October. Our fall/winter Training Season runs from November through April. During the Training Season, guest speakers make presentations on important relevant topics including hydration, walking/running form, safety and injury prevention, health and nutrition, and violence prevention. By the end of the Training Season, members will be ready to successfully complete a half marathon, mini marathon (5 miles), 10K, or 5K, depending on the individual goals they establish. A Red Power Divas newsletter, which includes articles about health, safety, and well being, is distributed to all members monthly.
